Waxed cord is cotton/linen/nylon cord with a light coat of wax. Waxing makes the thread stiffer, more water and mildew resistant, and less stretchy. Some waxed cords can leave a residue on your hands, but it washes off easily. You may want to add additional wax yourself using our beeswax.
