Description

Carrier beads are a support bead for a peyote strip, with two holes for stringing, and are designed to work with size 11 Miyuki Delica beads. Each carrier bead is 17 x 9 x 5mm. Acrylic carrier beads are tradionally fully covered, but these gorgeous glass versions work well with just some feature strips if desired.

Using Miyuki Delica seed beads, size 11, you would weave a thin peyote strip of 6 beads across (just 3 beads per row) & 50 rows long...zip stitch that into a loop, and slip on to the carrier bead. Some patterns call for gluing the strip down. Using pattern and color variations for these strips, your design possibilities are endless!

For a bracelet with a clasp, we would recommend a minimum of 10 carrier beads (less if you are interspersing them with other beads or crystals. 15 would work better for a stretch bracelet, but is again dependent on any extra beads you are adding. For a necklace, 25 to 30 carrier beads would work well, but do allow for any interspersed bead you are using.
